ELIQUIS is a factor Xa inhibitor anticoagulant indicated to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation.
Side Effects
Most common adverse reactions (>1%) are related to bleeding.
Interactions
- Strong dual inhibitors of CYP3A4 and P-gp increase blood levels of apixaban: Reduce ELIQUIS dose to 2.5 mg or avoid concomitant use.
- Simultaneous use of strong inducers of CYP3A4 and P-gp reduces blood levels of apixaban: Avoid concomitant use.
Precautions
- ELIQUIS can cause serious, potentially fatal bleeding. Promptly evaluate signs and symptoms of blood loss.
- Prosthetic heart valves: ELIQUIS use not recommended.
